Why I Switched to a Simpler Skincare Routine

Why I Switched to a Simpler Skincare Routine

For years, I believed good skincare meant more.

More products.
More steps.
More ingredients.
More promises.

Like many women, I had a cabinet full of half-used bottles and a routine that felt more overwhelming than helpful.

Over time, I found myself craving something simpler.

Not because skincare isn't important, but because life is already full. Between raising four children, running a farm, and building a business, I didn't need another complicated routine to maintain.

What I discovered was that my skin often responded better when I focused on a few high-quality products used consistently.

For me, that looked like three simple steps:

1. Cleanse Gently

Your skin doesn't need to feel stripped to be clean.

A nourishing oil cleanser can remove makeup, sunscreen, and daily buildup while supporting your skin barrier.

2. Moisturize Well

One of the biggest changes I noticed was when I stopped chasing dozens of active ingredients and started focusing on deeply nourishing my skin.

Healthy skin often needs support, not constant correction.

3. Keep Makeup Simple

Most days, I want my skin to look like skin.

A light, nourishing tinted moisturizer can help even tone while still allowing your natural complexion to shine through.

The Best Routine Is the One You'll Actually Use

The skincare industry often tells us we need more.

More products.
More steps.
More complexity.

But sometimes the best routine is simply the one that fits your real life.

A few minutes in the morning.
A few minutes at night.

Not perfection.

Just consistency, nourishment, and a small moment to care for yourself.

That's the kind of skincare I've come to love.

And it's the kind we create here at Gratitude Farm.
